Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for appointment into various academic positions in the Federal University Gusau, Zamfara State.   2. Farm Officer II (CONTISS 07)

    Candidate should possess 5 O’Level credits pass (WAEC/NECO/GCE) including English Language and Mathematics plus a recognized Higher National Diploma (HND) in agriculture or related discipline.

    Farm Officer I (CONTISS 08)

    Candidate should possess 5 O’Level credits pass (WAEC/NECO/GCE) including English Language and Mathematics plus a degree or equivalent in agriculture or related discipline with two (2) years relevant experience.

    Senior Farm Officer (CONTISS 09)

    Candidates should possess 5 O’Level credits pass (WAEC/NECO/GCE) including English Language and Mathematics plus a degree or equivalent in agriculture or related discipline with four (4) years relevant experience.

    Farm Manager II (CONTISS 11)

    Candidates should possess 5 O’Level credits pass (WAEC/NECO/GCE) including English Language and Mathematics plus a degree or equivalent in agriculture or related discipline with four (4) years reCandidates should possess 5 O’Level credits pass (WAEC/NECO/GCE) including English Language and Mathematics plus a degree or equivalent in agriculture or related discipline with seven (7) years relevant experience.

    Senior Farm Manager (CONTISS 12)

    Candidates should possess 5 O’Level credits pass (WAEC/NECO/GCE) including English Language and Mathematics with a degree or its equivalent in agriculture or related discipline plus nine (9) years relevant experience.

    Principal Farm Manager (CONTISS 13)

    Candidates should possess 5 O’Level credits pass (WAEC/NECO/GCE) including English Language and Mathematics plus a degree or equivalent in agriculture or related discipline with ten (10) years of experience. A postgraduate degree or diploma in Farm Management will be an added advantage.

    Technologist

    Technologist II (CONTISS 07)

    • Candidate should possess a good HND in relevant discipline not below lower credit level, plus registration with Institute of Science Laboratory Technology.
    • In addition, the candidate should possess 5 o level credits pass (WAEC/NECO/GCE) including English Language and Mathematics

    Technologist I (CONTISS 08)

    • • Candidates should possess qualification specified in Technologist II above plus three (3) years post-qualification experience OR
    • • Candidate should possess other recognized professional qualifications plus at least a minimum of six (6) years post qualification experience OR a holder of HND plus M.Tech. degree in same discipline.

    Senior Technologist II (CONTISS 09)

    Candidate should possess any of the following qualifications:

    • A good HND (or other recognized equivalent qualifications) plus a minimum of six (6) years post qualification experience OR
    • Or other recognized equivalent professional qualifications, plus a minimum of twelve (12) years post qualification experience OR
    • HND plus M.Tech. in the same discipline with a minimum of three (3) years post qualification experience.

    Senior Technologist I (CONTISS 10)

    Candidate should possess any of the following qualifications:

    • A good HND (or other recognized equivalent qualifications) plus a minimum of nine (9) years post qualification experience; OR
    • other recognized equivalent professional qualifications, plus a minimum of fifteen (15) years post qualification experience OR
    • HND plus M.Tech. in same discipline with a minimum of six (6) years post qualification experience.

    Principal Technologist (CONTISS 11)

    Candidates should possess any of the qualifications:

    • A good HND with minimum of nine (9) years post qualification experience plus professional registration OR
    • A good HND with M.Tech in same discipline plus a minimum of nine (9) years post qualification experience.

    Assistant Chief Technologist (CONTISS 12)

    Candidates should possess any of the qualifications:

    • A good HND, must spent three (3) years on the post of Principal Technologist plus Professional registration.

    Chief Technologist (CONTISS 13)

    Candidates should possess any of the qualifications:

    • By promotion of a confirmed and suitable Assistant Chief Technologist with HND (or other equivalent Professional Qualifications with a minimum of three (3) years’ experience as Assistant Chief Technologist plus Professional registration.

  7. Requirements for each academic posts:
    • Graduate Assistant (CONUASS 01)
      1. Applicant must be a holder of first degree with at least second class upper division from a recognized institution. Applicant with lower division may also apply.
      2. NYSC/ Exemption certificate.
    • Lecturer II (CONUASS 03)
      1. Applicant must be a holder of Ph.D. in relevant field or
      2. Master degree with at least 2 publications in a reputable journal and spent at least 2 years as Assistant Lecturer.
    • Lecturer I (CONUASS 04)
      1. Applicant must be a holder of Ph.D. in relevant field with at least 2 years as Lecturer II plus sufficient number, (5 at least) of scholarly publications in reputable journals and 2 edited conference proceedings. Or
      2. A holder of Master degree who has been a Lecturer II with at least 3 years’ university teaching experience and with at least 5 scholarly publications in a reputable journal and 3 edited conference proceedings.
    • Senior Lecturer (CONUASS 05)
      1. Must be a Ph.D. holder in relevant field with at least 6 years teaching experience at university level. plus 3 years as Lecturer I in the university.
      2. Plus, sufficient number, (not less than 6), of scholarly publications in reputable journals and (not less than 5) edited conference proceedings.
      3. Substantial Evidence of potential for continues research activity and academic leadership.
    • Reader (CONUASS 06)
      1. Must be a Ph.D. holder in relevant field with at least nine (9) years teaching experience at the university level. plus 3 years as Senior Lecturer in the university.
      2. Adequate background of research with sufficient number, (not less than 12), of scholarly publications in reputable journals and (not less than 8) edited conference proceedings.
      3. Postgraduate supervision at Ph.D. and Master level;
      4. Dissemination of knowledge through professional and academic activities;
      5. General academic leadership and the ability to mentor others.
      6. Some administrative experience and proven integrity.
      7. Favorable external assessment.
      8. To be currently at least a Senior Lecturer in the university.
    • Professor (CONUASS 07)
      1. Must be a Ph.D. holder in relevant field with at least (12) years teaching experience at the university level. plus 3 years at least as Reader.
      2. Continues productive research with the achievement for an acknowledged authority in area of specialization;
      3. Considerable background of research with sufficient number, (not less than 15), of scholarly publications in reputable journals and (not less than 10) edited conference proceedings;
      4. Not less than 75% of the maximum scores under research shall be in an applicant’s area of specialization;
      5. Postgraduate supervision at Ph.D. and Master level;
      6. Adequate capacity disseminates knowledge through professional and academic activities;
      7. Sound academic leadership and the ability to mentor others.
      8. Administrative skills, ability and experience and spotless integrity.
      9. Favorable external assessment.
      10. And applicant for the position of professor must be currently a Reader in a university or waiting external assessment for the position.
  8. CHIEF PROCUREMENT OFFICER
    The Responsibilities
    • Supervise, monitor and co-ordinate the activities of procurement unit;
    • Prepare a procurement plan for the University for the short and long run;
    • Prepare report for management – Annually, quarterly and other formal reports for action of the University management and Vice-Chancellor;
    • Design standard procurement programme and review from time to time;
    • Monitor the performance and efficiency on costs;
    • Prepare memoranda for procurement procedure; and
    • Performing other duties that may be assigned by the Vice-Chancellor.
    Qualifications and Experience
    • Twelve (12) years of relevant cognate experience in procurement activities in a tertiary institution or public service. He/she must have reached the position of Principal Procurement Officer I or its equivalent;
    • Be competent in relevant computer/ICT operation.
    • Possession of relevant higher degree or Postgraduate Professional qualifications in relevant fields will be an added advantage.
    • Bureau for Public Procurement Certificate of conversion will be an added advantage.
    • He/she must show evidence of leadership qualities, integrity and team work.
    The Person
    • Candidate must have exhibited in the past, considerable ability, competence, industry and moral integrity;
    • Be free from any moral, social and financial embarrassment;
    • Must be of good physical and mental health;
    • Excellent verbal, and written communication skills;
    • Excellent problem-solving, analytical and evaluative skills; and
    • Should not be older than sixty (60) years by the time of appointment.
